The ISHS-ProMusa alliance organizes a biennial scientific symposium, to help its members stay up-to-date on the latest Musa research, to encourage exchange of ideas and facilitate collaboration between scientists and across disciplines. The proceedings are published as a volume of Acta Horticulturae.
Since its inception in 1997, ProMusa has also organized a number of specialist workshops to stimulate R&D activity and to develop targeted project proposals, as well as specialist training workshops to pass on the skills and knowledge to practitioners in the regions.
ProMusa encourages scientists travelling to meetings to follow the recommendations developed to prevent the introduction of quarantine banana diseases. The recommendations are available in English, French and Spanish.
