2019 Louis Malassis and Olam Prizes

Created by the Agropolis Foundation, the Louis Malassis International Scientific Prize for Agriculture and Food recognizes contributions in research, development, and capacity building to sustainably improve food and agricultural systems while addressing food security and poverty reduction in the North, South or Mediterranean Region. The prize will be awarded in three categories: distinguished scientist; promising young scientist; and outstanding career in agricultural development. The winners of the distinguished scientist and outstanding career in agricultural development prizes will receive €20,000. The winner of the young promising scientist prize will receive a €5,000 cash prize plus a €15,000 mobility grant to any of the 41 research labs that are part of Agropolis Fondation’s scientific network.

The Olam Prize for Innovation in Food Security recognizes an innovative scientific research project for its potential impact on the availability, affordability, accessibility or adequacy of food. The winning research project will receive US$75,000. Entries are evaluated and selected based on the scientific excellence, impact of their contribution to sustainable development, and quality of partnerships they have developed and established, notably with the civil society.
