Newly elected Chairpersons of the ProMusa working groups Print E-mail

The members of each working group have participated in an electronic election to choose the Chairperson and Vice-chairperson of their respective group.

The names of the newly-elected Chairpersons and Vice-chairpersons of each ProMusa working group were announced at the ISHS/ProMusa symposium held in South Africa in September 2007. In the weeks preceeding the symposium, the members of each working group had cast their electronic ballots for the nominees of their choice.

The members of the Crop Production working group elected Zaag de Beer from the Agricultural Research Council in South Africa as Chairperson and Stefan Hauser from the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in the Democratic Republic of Congo as Vice-chairperson.

The members of the Crop Protection working group elected Alice Churchill from Cornell University in the US as Chairperson and Jean-Michel Risède from CIRAD, the French agricultural research centre working for international development, in Guadeloupe as Vice-chairperson.

The members of the Crop Improvement working group elected Mike Smith from the Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries in Australia as Chairperson and Rob Miller from the Universidade Católica de Brasília in Brazil as Vice-chairperson.
